Lower House Passes State Bank (Repeal & Amendment) Bill, 2017
The House of the pepole of India ( Lok Sabha) has passed the State banks (Repeal & Amendment) Bill, 2017. The bill pursue to revoke the two Acts i.e. State bank of India (Subsidiary Banks) Act, 1959, & State Bank of Hyderabad Act, 1956. It also pursue to implement the SBI Act, 1955 to cancel references to subsidiary banks and powers of SBI to act as an agent of the RBI for the subsidiary banks.
