New CBSE Chief : Anita Karwalcurrent affairs 3rd sept

Anita Karwal, IAS Officer 1988 batch from Gujrat cadre was appointed as the new chairperson of Cenral Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). She is currently serving as additional secretary in HRD Ministry. She would be replacing Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, who has been appointed as Director General of the National Skill Development Agency.

Ahmedabad gets India’s First World Heritage City Certificate by UNESCO

UNESCO formally accorded Ahmedabad as India’s First World Heritage City certificate. UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova handed over the certificate to Gujrat’s Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in Gandhinagar declaring Ahmedabad as a ‘World Heritage City.
In July, the UN agency had inscribed Ahmedabad as India’s first World Heritage City at a meeting held in Poland.

Annual Conference ‘Rajaswa Gyan Sangam 2017’ in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the two-day conference, ‘Rajaswa Gyan Sangam, 2017’ at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The conference is organised in co-operation of Central Board of Direc Taxes (CBDT) and Central Board of Exice and Customs (CBEC). The aim of the event is to enable a two-way communication between the policy-maker and senior officers in the field offices with a view to enhance revenue collection and provide effective implementation of law and policies in key result areas.

SAAB, Adani to group to build Gripen E Fighter Jets in Indiacurrent Affairs 3rd Sept

In a big success for the Make In India Campaign, Sweden major defence SAAB has announced a partnership with Adani group for manufacturing single fighter aircraft in India under the Defence Ministry’s $10 billion single-engine fighter jet procurement programme.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group said, “Today India spends billions of dollars in exporting defence weapons and equipment. We are keen to play an instrumental role in making India a place for high-class defence manufacturing. This is in line with PM Modi’s Make in India vision.”

World’s Tallest Sandcastle Built in German City

World’s tallest sandcastle, standing about 16 meters tall in the Duisburg, a city of Germany. A German travel operator organized the construction of mammoth sandcastle, bringing in about 3,500 tons of sand over the past three and a half weeks to the site at a former steelworks in the inland city.
It takes the title from a 14.84-metre sandcastle built early this year in India by sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik.
