JEE Main 2018 : The (Central Board Secondry Education) CBSE has announced the Exam date for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) JEE Main 2018 application form. The JEE Mains Exam is based on the offline Exam .The exam will be conducted on 08th April 2018 and Now the Application form is going to be Started from 1st Dec 2017. IIT JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination) is a india’s top level Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by CBSE Board. The students can get admissions in B.Tech / B.E / B.Arch courses in  IIITs , NITs and other engineering institutions through IIT JEE Mains 2018. According to the IITs offer admission to these courses through JEE Advanced 2018 Examination. Students who will qualify JEE Main 2018 Exam that will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced Examination.

Eligibility Criteria For  JEE Main 2018

Age Criteria: 

Candidates should be born after 1st October 1993 those are eligible for writing the JEE Main examination.

 

  • Age Relaxation : 5 years age relaxation shall be provided in the upper age limit of SC / ST & PWD applicants (i.e. DOB falls on or after  01/10/1988).

Education Qualification :

  • Candidates should be pass the 12th examination & Qualifying examination must be passed / appearing with five subjects. Candidates should have physics & mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • In case if student has appeared the 12th Examination in 2015 but not passed in 2015, passed in 2016 are also not eligible.
  • Diploma holders can also apply for JEE Main 2018 but only eligible for admission to IITs.

Number of Attempts:

There are total 3 attempts will be given for clearing the JEE Main Exam. JEE Advanced can be attempted maximum 2 times in consecutive years.

Eligibility For Admission in IITs, NITs, CFTIs:

To take admission in NITs, IITs, CFTIs, students should have archived 75% marks in 12th examination or must be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th Examination of respective boards. And for the qualifying marks for SC / ST will be 65%.

JEE Main 2018 Examination Pattern:

For JEE Main Paper -1

  • Course: Paper-1 is conducted for admission to B.E / B.Tech courses
  • Examination  Mode:- The exam mode for JEE Main (paper 1) will be offline (Pan & Paper Based) as well as online (CBT). Applicants can opt any one of the modes as per their suitability.
  • Subjects:- The paper-1st will consist of 3 subject Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Number of Questions:- In Every subject 30 questions will be asked paper 1st with total of 90 Questions comprising of 360 Marks.
  • Type of Questions:-  The Question paper will be available Only objective type questions in Paper-1.
  • Language:- Normally For all Exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi (except exam centre cities in Daman & Diu, Dadra  and Gujarat, and Nagar Haveli where some Question Paper will be English, Hindi and Gujarati).
  • Exam Duration:- The time duration of JEE Main 2018 Exam will be 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme: Students will be get with +4 marks for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking:On wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.

For JEE Main Paper – 2

  • Course:- Paper-2 is conducted for admission to B.Arch / B.Planning courses.
  • Exam Mode:- The JEE Advance Exam mode for this paper will be offline (PBT) mode.
  • Number of Questions:- In the JEE Adv. 30 Questions will be asked in Mathematics (Part – 1), 50 Questions in aptitude test (Part – 2) and 2 questions in drawing comprising of Total 390 marks.
  • Type of Questions:- The Mathematics and Aptitude test section will contain Objective Type Questions. Drawing test will be subjective.
  • Language:- Normally For all Exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi (except exam centre cities in Daman & Diu, Dadra  and Gujarat, and Nagar Haveli where some Question Paper will be English, Hindi and Gujarati).

JEE Main 2018 Syllabus

JEE Main Exam 2018 syllabus provides the information about topics and chapters that can asked in JEE Main paper 1st and paper 2nd examination. Both the papers are for different courses & syllabus is also different for both. JEE Main Exam syllabus for paper 1st consist important chapters from physics, Chemistry & Mathematics taught in 11th & 12th standard of CBSE, ICSE and Other boards.

For JEE Adv. Paper 2nd syllabus comprising of Mathematics, aptitude test & drawing. Students can download the detailed syllabus as it will be announce by CBSE.

 

JEE Main Admit Card 2018

  • After filling the JEE Exam application form, Students start searching the admit card. JEE Main 2018 Admit Card will be announced in the 2nd week of March 2018.
  • CBSE will published the admit card through online mode.
  • The board will also provide the facility to book slot for the Online Mode Examination.
  • JEE Admit card will contain Exam schedule, exam centre details, student’s Roll number, etc.

JEE Main Answer Key

The CBSE (CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION) will publish the answer key of paper 1st and paper 2nd during 24th – 27th April 2018. Students can also check their answers with the official answer key & OMR Sheet to know the expected marks. Those candidates who are not satisfied with the Answers they may challenge the answer key by paying Rs. 1000/- per question.

JEE Main Result 

  • Result of JEE Main (paper 1st) will be declared on 30/04/2018 through online mode.
  • JEE Main 2018 result indicates actual scores and rank secured in entrance examination.
  • All India Rank (AIR) for paper 2nd will be published on 31/05/2018.
  • On the basis of JEE Main 2018 result, candidats will also get idea about whether they will eligible for appearing JEE Advanced or not.
  • All India rank (AIR) will be considered for admission to NITs, IIITs, IITs,CFTIs, SFTIs and others.

JEE Main Cut-Off

  • JEE Main 2018 cut-off marks will be issued after the completion of exam. Meanwhile, candidates also check the previous years cut-off marks.
  • In order to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2018 and for admission to top colleges, Candidates have to secure cut-off marks.
  • In the academic year 2016-2017, JEE Main cut-off is as follows:
  1. Gen category – 105
  2. OBC category – 70
  3. SC category – 50
  4. ST category – 44
