SAFF U-18 Championships 2017 : India Enjoys Victory over Bhutan by 3-0
After losing their first game to Bangladesh after SAFF opening. India has comeback in Second match beating down Bhutan over 3-0 in SAFF U-18 Championships at Thimpu on Friday.
The match was engaging and rusty, Seeing down performances of players performing well seems that India has a great future ahead.
Indian player Lalawmpuia on 26th minute missed an penalty and then coming back at 38th minute coming from corner giving India its first goal and then the second one coming at 79th minute from Lalawmpuia himself and then thrashing down Bhutan in injury time by third goal coming from Asish Rai. Now India has placed themselves on third position on the point table after defeating Bhutan and two matches played only.
Seeing India performance, India had gain good start from beginning itself and on other side Bhutan could n’t keep up with an good start or doing an proper attack from the start the game.
India had also some Ups and downs as the game was going on Princeton was shot has gone wide at a free kick and other than that Lalawmpuia and Edmund‘s shots were were going out and either in hand or taken by the goalkeeper.
At the 19th minute India might have gain the lead but the ball hit the post from Abhisek Halder and after that India got the penalty in hand India missed that out too as Lalawmpuia not got his best shot and other opportunity was wasted.
After missing out those opportunities finally a breakthrough came from the side of corner as many corners were got and then in one of the corners Lalawmpuia seek the right moment and get the goal at the goal post and India were at lead.
The Second half begins and again Bhutan could n’t keep up and India get the chance to dominate the Bhutan. Edmund got the shot but missed the post, there was another chance for Lalawmpuia that was saved by the goalkeeper.
Game was seen slowing down and then solo runs were their to catch the eyes.
First there was Roshan giving out his best in field and taking on the opposition solo, the run could n’t make the goal as goalkeeper saved it.
After minutes passed we got to see another solo run, this time from Lalawmpuia, and goalkeeper also could not saved as the Lalawmpuia strike the goal from 25 yards out and take India to double lead.
The last one came from Substitute Ashish Rai scoring in the injury time and thrashing the Bhutan.
