World’s Most Liveable City : Melbourne
According to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s global Liveability report 2017, Melbourne (Australia) has been named Worlds’s most liveable city for a record 7th year in a row. China Bans North korean Iron, Coal & Seafood Imports
Following through new sanctions after UN recommendations to Beijing to strong arm Pyongyang over North Korea’s nuclear programme. The UN gave the decision on Monday and Beijing had pledged to fully enforce the order. The Chinese Commerce Ministry said on its website that all imports of coal, iron, iron ore and seafood will be “completely prohibited from Tuesday. Beijing had already announced a suspension of coal imports in February.

GoI Asks Internet Giants& Others to Remove Blue Whale Links
The Government of India (GoI) has asked – Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook Whatsapp & Instagram to remove the links of suicidal online game ‘blue Whale Challenge’ immediately. the game has led to suicide of children in India and other countries. Law & IT Minister Ravi shankar prasad issued a letter instructing the internet giants to ensure that any such link of this suicidal game in its own name or similar game is removed from their platform.
Indian export Raises about 4% in July
Due to increase in shipments of petroleum, chemicals and marine products, the country’s export raised 3.9% in July, 2017, to $22.5 billion. Official data released also showed that imports grew 15.4% in July, to $34 billion due to heavy imports of gold & crude oil. The Country’s trade deficit widened to $114. billion from $7.8 billion in July, 2016.
Prime Minister Modi launches website to Honour gallntry Award Winners
Country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a website on Tuesday (15th August) to honor all the gallantry award winners since Independence. Announcing the launch of the website ‘www.gallantryawards.gov.in’ in a series of tweets, Mr. Modi said “the portal will preserve and tell the stories of our bravest men and women, civilians as well as armed forces personnel.”
He also welcomed citizens’ participation in the process.
“If you have any information or photo that is missing and can be added to the portal, please share it through the feedback link on the site,” PM Modi added.
