Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route unveiled
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project of Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is seems to be come true. All land acquisition processes is being personally monitored by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Fadnavis promised to form an advance committee to look into environment issue.
The bullet train proposal has been sent to the Cabinet subcommittee and if the subcommittee green-lights the proposal, the MoU for the train is set to be signed next week at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
QS World University Rankings 2018: Top 10 Universities
The QS world university ranking has released the 2018 list of educational institutions on the basis of the employability of their graduats. This year two Australian universities and China’s Tsinghua Univeristy have fared among the top 10. Here are the top 10 universities in the list:

India Complains Over ‘Offensive’ Australian Lamb Commercial
Government of India has lodged an official complaint over an Australian advertisement. The advertisement features Hindu god Ganesha and other religious icons endoraing lamb.
The advertisement raised anger in Australia’s Indian community. The Indian high commission (embassy) in Canberra said it had taken the issue up with the Australian Government.
“Lord Ganesha along with other religious figures is found to be ‘toasting lamb’, which the Indian community consider to be offensive and hurting their religious sentiments,” the commission said in a statement Saturday.
V K Sasikala is Expelled from AIADMK
The head of Tamil Nadu’s ruling AIADMK VK Sasikala has been expelled from the part at AIADMK’s crucial general council meeting in Chennai. Sasikala is jailed at this time. Council also sacked Sasikals’s nephew TTV Dinakaran from the party. The council headed by CM E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam, also decided to name late J Jayalaithaa as the permanent general secretary of the party.
Dinkaran addressed media after expulsion, described EPS-led AIADMK as a ‘camp of Cheats’. He also said that only Sasikala can replace Amma (J Jayalalithaa).
Veteran actor Tom Alter is suffering from skin cancer
Veteran film, television actor Tom Alter is suffering from skin cancer, confirmed his son. The 67 old, Alter is in the fourth stage of skin cancer and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Awarded with Padma Shri in 2008, Tom Alter is a popular Indian actor of American descent. He made his big screen debut in 1976 with a small role in Dharmendra-starrer Charas. He is best known for TV shows like Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Byomkesh Bakshi and Shaktimaan. He even played the role of Mirza Ghalib in a popular play called ‘Ghalib in Delhi’
India Agrees to Further Defence Assistance to Afghanistan
India and Afganistan signed four pacts after the meeting with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and here Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani. India agreed to provide further defence forces for overcoming the challenges posed by cross border terrorism and safe havens and sanctuaries. “We jointly agreed to embark on a New Development Partnership in keeping with the priorities of Afghanistan.. 116 new High Impact Development Projects would be jointly implemented that would bring socio-economic and infrastructure development,” Ms. Swaraj said.

Halimah Yacob, born to an Indian Muslim father and Malay mother was given the certificate of eligibility to contest the election by the Presidential Elections Committee on September 11, 2017. The member of poorest ethnic minority in Singapore is all set to become the first woman President pf the state. halimah Yacob(63), former speaker of Parliament, will be named to the President post according to media report, after other candidates fell short of the criteria set for contesting the election.

Prince Charles (68), the heir to Britain’s throne, today became the longest serving prince of Wales in history. Mr. Charles surpassed Queen’s Victoria’s oldest son Albert, who went on to become King Edward VII after holding the title of Prince of Wales for more than 59 years before becoming monarch.
China-Pakistan Air Forces Launches Joint Exercise ‘Shaheen VI’
The Pakistan Air Force and the Chinese Pepole’s Liberation Army-Air Force (PLAAF) began joint training exercise “Shaheen VI” in China. The exercise started last week, will continue till September 27. Both countries deployed their latest fighter jets and AWACS aircraft. AWACS is Airborne Warning And Control System, a mobile, long-range radar surveillance and control centre for air defence.
IndusInd Bank, Bharat Financial enter into merger talks
The board of directors of IndusInd Bank entered into a ‘confidentiality, exclusivity, and standstill agreement’ with Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd on Monday to evaluate a potential strategic combination between the two by way of amalgamation through a scheme of arragement, or any other suitable structure. “The exclusivity agreement provides for a mutually agreed exclusivity period for due diligence and discussions to evaluate a potential strategic combination between the company and BFIL,” IndusInd Bank said.
PM Narendra Modi Addresses Students’ Convention On Young India, New India
On the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address at the World’s Parliament of Religion in 1893, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a students’ convention. The theme of the address is “Young India, New India – A Resurgent Nation: from Sankalp to Sidhhi”.The address will focus on Vivekananda’s teaching in the present day context. The day also marks the centenary celebrations of BJP ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya. The event is being organised by the Deendayal Research Institute (DRI) and supported by the Culture Ministry. “This year, we are marking 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya centenary celebrations,” the prime minister said in a tweet.
PNB, BSNL Join Hands for Mobile Wallet Speedpay
Punjab National Bank and state-run firm BSNL bonded to roll out open mobile wallet Speedpay across 10 states in the country. PNB Speedway wallet will operate like any other mobile wallet for paying bills, recharging phone besides its users will be able to deposit and withdraw money from authorized retail outlets.
Under the agreement, BSNL will expand Speedpay services in Punjab, Chandigarh(UT), Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand.
