Dera Chief Ram Rahim Sentenced 10 Years of Imprisonment in Rape Casedaily current affairs
Special CBI court released their verdict on the high intense rape case on Dera Saccha Sauda Chief Baba Ram Rahim to 10 years of imprisonment. Special CBI Court headed by judge Jaddeep singh declared Baba guilty in last hearing, three days ago in Panchkula.
There were three-tier security ring was setup around the district jail yo avoid any mishap. The Dera chief was sent for a medical examination and then will be given a prison uniform and will be allotted a jail cell.

Rural Games to Take Place in Delhi From Today
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mr. Vijay Goel announced that the first edition of Rural Games or Grameen Khel Mahotsav will kick-start from Delhi and will take place between 28th August to 3rd September, 2017. The Rural Games will aim at popularizing the indigenous games like wrestling, athletics etc. and will also have fun games like Matka Race, Tug of War for senior citizens to add the fun element in the games.

Tuvalu Island is World’s Least Visited Country: UN Report
According to a report by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the island of Tuvalu was the least visited country in 2016.
According to the report, 2,000 people visited Tuvalu in 2016, while 1,000 people visited the country in 2014. Located in the South Pacific Ocean, Tuvalu is 4.6 meters above sea level and has a population of 11,000 people.

Doklam Standoff : India China Agree to Disengage

Days before the expected visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China for a BRICS summit, India has begun de-escalation after being in a standoff for over two months. The disengagement is taken place after many bi-lateral talks, the withdrawal is mutually agreed.
A report from Beijing said the Chinese troops will “continue to patrol in Doklam in the Sikkim sector” in a sign of “sovereignty over the region”.

Sushma Swaraj Inaugurates First ‘Videsh Bhawan’ in Mumbai
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj inaugurated the country’s first ‘Videsh Bhawan’ in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Mumbai. The ‘Videsh Bhawan’ integrates all offices of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in Maharashtra.
As a first pilot project, four offices of MEA – Regional Passport Office (RPO), Protector of Emigrants (PoE) office, Branch Secretariat and Regional Office of ICCR – have been assimilated and brought under one roof at the state-of-art office.

IRDAI Launches Central Database of Insurance Sales Persons
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has launched a Central Database of all Insurance Sales Persons in the country.
Named as `Envoy’, the database will ensure that all licensed insurance sales persons working for insurers and intermediaries including entities such as insurance agents, broker qualified persons, specified persons of corporate agents do not work with multiple insurers and intermediaries in the same business category.

Sindhu Won Silver at World Badminton Championship 2017

In an epic finals at Glasgow, Scotland, Sandhu lost the match against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara. Justice Dipak Misra Sworn in as 45th CJI of India
At a brief ceremony in the Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan, Justice Dipak Misra sworn in as the 45 Chief Justice of India. President Ramnath Kovind administered the oath of office to Mr. Misra.
Justice Misra (64) is replacing Justice JS kehar, as Kehar completed his tenure and get retire. Justice Misra will serve as CJI for about 14 months till October 2, 2018.

Indian Navy Powered With Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LRSAM)
Defence Minister arun Jaitley handed over the Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LRSAM) to the Indian Navy. LRSAM is jointly developed by India and Israel, is an advanced combat suit for missiles, and has capabilities of air and surface surveillance, threat alert and fire control.
Arun Jaitley has also dedicated a first-of-its kind 50-tonne Rocket Motor Static Test Facility. He inaugurated the ASTRA Manufacturing Unit at the BDL’s Bhanur unit.

Messi Becomes First Ever Player to Score 350 Goals in La Liga
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi added another feather to his cap, as he become the first ever player to score 350 goals in La Liga.

Leo went on to score one more goal in Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Alaves, bringing his all-time league tally up to 351. Messi, who has played 384 league matches, is now 66 goals ahead of rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dharmendra Kumar Appointed Director General of RPF
CISF ADG Dhaarmendra Kumar, a 1984 batch IPS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre has been appointed as Dirctor General of the Railwy Protection Force.
After the retirement of S K Bhagat in June 2017, the additional charge of DG, RPF, was being beared by National Security Guard (NSG) DG, Sudhir Pratap Singh. Kumar will retire on September 30, 2018.

Banks to Pay 3% IGST on Gold Imports
Banks importing gold and precious metals will have to pay 3 per cent tax under the Goods and Service Tax (GST) which can be claimed as input tax credit.
However, under GST, 3% Integrated-GST is payable on all imports of precious metals in addition to the basic customs duty. IGST paid can be taken as input tax credit by the banks.

Sushma Swaraj Will Attend Indian Ocean Conference in Colombo
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will take part in the two-day Indian Ocean Conference to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in which Sri Lankan prime minister and president are among key speakers.

The theme of the conference is peace, progress, and prosperity. It will see participation from around 35 countries and have speakers from 25 countries. The conference will be held in Temple Trees, the official residence of the Lankan prime minister.
