MSEDCL’s Amnesty Scheme For Disconnected Consumers
The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has Recenly launched an amnesty scheme for “Permanent Disconnected” consumers.We are planning for a scheme to reconnect the permanently disconnected consumers,” said energy minister Chandrashekhar Bavankule, adding that in the absence of a legitimate power connection, these users may be stealing power.The power company has launched this schem Abhay Yojana for such people in both agriculture and residential category. Under the scheme, consumers whose power connections were disconnected till March 31st this year are eligible.

महाराष्ट्र स्टेट इलेक्ट्रिसिटी डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन कंपनी लिमिटेड (एमएसईडीसीएल) ने बकाएदारों का भुगतान न करने के कारण बदले जाने वाले बकाएदारों के लिए एक नई माफी योजना की घोषणा की है। स्कीम के अनुसार, यदि डिफॉल्टर 30 नवंबर तक मूल लंबित देय राशि का भुगतान करते हैं, तो देरी भुगतान के लिए राशि के साथ-साथ जुर्माना पर ब्याज भी बंद कर दिया जाएगा। उपभोक्ताओं को लंबित राशि पर पांच प्रतिशत की छूट भी मिलेगी और उनकी अतिरिक्त बिजली के बिना किसी अतिरिक्त शुल्क के बहाल किए जाएंगे।

Apart from the deal of penalty and interest that will be given to those who pay their dues before November 30, those consumer who will pay the bill between December 1 and January 31, 2017, and they will get the benefit of complete remission of interest on the dues as well as the penalty amount. However, they will not get the 5% discount as the one who will clear the dues before November 30.Even others who will pay the bill between February 1 and 30 April, 2017, will get a complete waiver of late payment fee and 75% of the interest charged over the pending bills. Meaning they will have to pay the base amount and 25% of the interest amount, the statement by the MSEDCL said.
Through this MSEDCL scheme Alarmed by the continuous increase in arrears owed by permanently disconnected consumers those who have been disconnected for over 6 months. Maharashtra SEDCL has launched an amnesty scheme for them. The total arrears owed by such people is approximately Rs. 3,200 crore, including principal arrears Rs. 2,649 crore and interest Rs. 546 crore. The scheme will be launched from November 1 and will be valid for six months.
